Mahamaya Dham or Temple is considered one of the greatest shaktipeeths located in Kokrajhar district. This temple dedicated to the goddess Mahamaya is visited by various pilgrims throughout the year. You can visit this attraction during the Durga Puja celebration to witness some authentic traditions.
The Chirang district of Bodoland houses a historical religious site named Rajathakur Devalaya. This temple was developed in 1806 by the Sidli Royal Family during the Koch Dynasty. From then till now, various tourists and local people have gathered here to seek blessings from the divine abode.
Anthai Golao Bathou Temple is a newly constructed temple in Kokrajhar. It is believed by the local people that in this location there was an old temple dedicated to Lord Bathou and Shiva. The new temple here houses two architectural pillars and a Shiva Linga which are worshipped daily.
The Panbari Kali Mandir in Chirang is dedicated to Goddess Kali. This religious site is mainly known for its magnificent and intricate architecture. The beautifully constructed garbagriha, sculptures of gods and goddesses, and vibrant murals are the main attractions of the temple.
Bogamati is considered one of the most striking locations in Bodoland which is located on the Indo-Bhutan border. Apart from the natural beauty and streams of the Bornadi River, this place is also popular for its 25-foot-tall Buddha Statue which is renowned as the “Blessing Buddha- a sign of World Peace”.
The Udalguri District of Bodoland is home to the age-old Mukteshwari Devalaya which is associated with various tales of Sati Behula. Presently, the premises of this devalaya have three significant temples dedicated to Shiva, Manasha, and Vishnu. The old banyan tree is another major attraction of this site.
